Aquaterrace – Amed Accommodations

One of the most romantic, well designed and relaxing places we’ve ever stayed in Bali, Aquaterrace is located a few kilometers south of the main area of Amed. We highly recommend it if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of busier areas with a loved one.

We opted to stay in the cliffside portion of Aquaterrace, and our room was absolutely gorgeous. The white linens, turquoise decor, cozy terrace and ocean-view shower were a treat, and the breakfast delivered to our door every morning was delicious. The new beachside rooms also looked gorgeous, though both properties offer the same amenities.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful, and even gave us a ride on the back of their motorbikes to the Japanese shipwreck, and arranged a time to pick us back up. They also made sure we had transportation to our next hotel in Amed when we couldn’t get in touch with them.

The panoramic ocean view from the pool is very nice, as are the poolside cabanas, where we chose to enjoy our complimentary afternoon coffee, tea and snacks.

One thing we really appreciated was that the restaurant’s prices were very reasonable, and everything we has was delicious, from the sashimi carpaccio to minestrone soup, grilled chicken and mahi mahi.

We also enjoyed the daily spa happy hour, 2 treatments for the price of 1! The massage room is open-air and overlooks the ocean, and the signature massage was very relaxing and a great value considering the beautiful surroundings and convenience.

The only two things I would suggest to improve the experience would be to 1) add a front desk area at the cliffside location, which would make the check-in, transportation coordination, spa bookings, etc. a little more organized and clear, and 2) allow people to pay in full when they check-in, or even beforehand with a credit card, as opposed to a Paypal invoice beforehand or bank transfer. Other than that, I will absolutely be back!
